Our Creative Practices

Brush&Bloom practices Sustainable Creativity; this is the process of sourcing and reforming materials with eco-conscious methods. Our intention is to create a long-lasting legacy without causing damage or excess waste to our environment.

Considering the influence of the natural world on Brush&Bloom’s work, an instinctive desire to protect the planet and its resources followed. Significant time is spent researching the ecological impact of the materials we use and the packaging we design, often supporting local traders who value long-term, sustainable solutions.

We believe the pursuit of profit margins and mass production cannot be sustained; it is the responsibility and privilege of every creator, company and corporation to act against industrialisation and defend the earth whilst it remains our home.

Brush&Bloom are committed to using responsibly produced materials that extract naturally occurring ingredients in a thoughtful way, as not to create excess waste in the process. Our products and packaging are fully recyclable, our materials are of the highest quality and our brushes are cruelty-free.

Whilst we endeavor to use materials with crafted from natural sources, such as paper from 100% wood pulp and cotton fibers, there are some instances where synthetic products prove to be less wasteful. We prefer to use brushes with synthetic bristles, rather than natural fibers due to the ecological impact of harvesting animal products. We remain committed to researching and adapting our techniques and tools alongside technological advances.

In the Brush&Bloom Studio we are constantly exploring creative mediums and pushing the boundaries of what feels comfortable. We regularly challenge ourselves to paint in a way that is unfamiliar, whether that be by reducing our colour palette, working to a time limit or learning new techniques.
